In an interview with the Singapore edition of the Prestige magazine published in April 2002, Switching Battery Inc. founder, Kannappan Chettiar declared his intention to become an inventor "like Thomas Edison" in 20 years from when he gave the interview.

Almost on cue twenty years later, on July 26, 2022, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) grants Kannappan his patent titled "Energy Storage System and Method to Improve Battery Performance" which utilizes an inventive battery connection method coupled with renewable energy for higher energy efficiency and cost effectiveness.

The recently granted patent enables DC voltage modulation, which, if it were available 100 years ago, would have given Edison's DC electricity the advantage over Tesla's AC electricity in the "War of Currents".
